Bon Jovi is the self-titled debut album by American rock band Bon Jovi, originally released on 23 January 1984 via Mercury Records. The album contains the breakthrough single Runaway, which reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. The record entered the US Billboard 200 at number 43 and laid the groundwork for the melodic hard rock the band later became widely known for. The album marks the beginning of one of the most successful rock careers of the 1980s.
