For their fifth studio album The Cranberries worked with Stephen Street again, the producer of their first two albums. Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, originally from 2001, sits between the restrained songs of the early years and the heavier guitars of the late nineties, with singles such as 'Analyse' and 'Time Is Ticking Out'. The sleeve was designed by Storm Thorgerson, known for his work for Pink Floyd. It was the last studio album before the break the band took shortly afterwards.
