Choice of Weapon is The Cult's ninth studio album, originally released in 2012. Chris Goss started the recordings and Bob Rock finished the work; both hands are audible in the mix of rough, desert-rock textures and tightly produced rock songs. "For the Animals", "Lucifer" and "Honey from a Knife" are among the album's best-known material. Astbury worked personal loss and his interest in mysticism into the songs.
