Me Myself and I was De La Soul's breakthrough single in 1989, built on the bassline of Funkadelic's (Not Just) Knee Deep. It became their best-known recording and at the same time locked the group into the flower-child image they tried to shake off on their next album. The B-side carries the instrumental version.
