Slang is the sixth studio album by Def Leppard, first released in May 1996. The album was largely recorded in Spain and produced by the band together with Pete Woodroffe. Where Hysteria and Adrenalize had a layered, polished production, the band opted this time for a rawer, darker sound influenced by 1990s alternative rock. Slang was the first studio album on which guitarist Vivian Campbell contributed fully to the songwriting. The singles Slang and Work It Out were taken from the album.
