Delta Machine is about the blues, but without guitars: the tracks are built from humming analogue synthesizers, crackle, and slow beats, with Dave Gahan low and restrained in the mix. The thirteenth studio album, originally from 2013, closed out the run with producer Ben Hillier. Heaven was the first single, Soothe My Soul leans on a riff that recalls Personal Jesus, and Should Be Higher was written by Gahan with Kurt Uenala. The vinyl version carries four more tracks than the standard CD. This edition is a 2LP.
