Waiting for the Sun was released in 1968 as The Doors' third studio album and became their first to reach number one in the United States. The single Hello, I Love You also topped the US charts. The album also included songs such as The Unknown Soldier and Five to One. Not to Touch the Earth was the only fully realized part of Jim Morrison's longer suite Celebration of the Lizard. Spanish Caravan showcased the flamenco influence on Robby Krieger's guitar playing. The album was produced by Paul A. Rothchild.
