Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Song Book is the first instalment of Fitzgerald's celebrated Song Book series, originally released in 1956 as one of the first releases on Norman Granz's new Verve label. Fitzgerald sings compositions by Cole Porter, including 'Night and Day', 'I've Got You Under My Skin' and 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye', in arrangements by Buddy Bregman. The album was a major commercial success and marked the starting point of the series with which she documented the Great American Songbook. This edition is a 2-LP on black vinyl.
