Invisible Touch is the album that put Genesis at the centre of the pop charts. Five singles reached the American top 5: the title track, Throwing It All Away, Land Of Confusion, In Too Deep, and Tonight, Tonight, Tonight. The trio wrote most of the material by jamming at their own studio, The Farm, and the result leans on drum machines, the hard snare sound of Phil Collins, and the synthesizers of Tony Banks. There was still room for the older approach: Domino runs well past ten minutes in two parts, and Tonight, Tonight, Tonight opens with a long, dark build before the choruses arrive. The album originally dates from 1986 and became the band's biggest seller.
