Aoxomoxoa, originally released in 1969, was Grateful Dead's third studio album and marked the start of the lasting partnership between Jerry Garcia and lyricist Robert Hunter. The record is distinctly psychedelic and contains songs that would become live staples, among them "St. Stephen", "China Cat Sunflower", "Doin' That Rag" and "Cosmic Charlie". The band later reworked the mix, but the compositions themselves remained untouched.
