Burning Desire belongs to Dagger Records, the label through which Experience Hendrix officially releases archive recordings that would otherwise only circulate as bootlegs. Eddie Kramer mixed these studio sessions from 1969 and early 1970, the period in which the original Experience fell apart and Jimi Hendrix carried on with bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles. Long, searching versions of Ezy Ryder, Cherokee Mist, Izabella, Villanova Junction Blues and the title track show how that material took shape in the studio. The album originally came out on mail-order CD only. This edition is a 2-LP on translucent orange and red vinyl, pressed for Record Store Day Black Friday.
