John Williams joined the production of Home Alone late and wrote, in a matter of months, a Christmas score that moves between slapstick and sentiment. Somewhere in My Memory, with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and sung by a children's choir, became the best known piece and, together with the score, brought two Academy Award nominations, for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. The album also carries the burglary cues Setting the Trap and The Attack on the House, interleaved with Christmas standards such as Carol of the Bells and White Christmas. The music originally appeared in December 1990.
