This compilation originally appeared in 1967 on Columbia and sums up Johnny Cash's first decade with the label. The mariachi trumpets of Ring of Fire sit next to the tight boom-chicka-boom of I Walk the Line, the train rhythm of Orange Blossom Special next to The Ballad of Ira Hayes, Peter La Farge's song about the Native American marine of Iwo Jima. Jackson, the duet with June Carter, reached a long-playing record here for the first time. The RIAA certified it gold in 1969 and double platinum in 1986. This edition is an LP.
