Court And Spark Demos brings together early demo recordings by the Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, originally released in 2023. The recordings date from the run-up to Court And Spark, the 1974 album that became her greatest commercial success. Mitchell plays the songs here in bare form, at piano and guitar, still without the jazzy arrangements of the eventual record. Among others, 'Help Me' - later her only American top 10 hit - 'Raised On Robbery' and 'Just Like This Train' can be heard in the making, alongside a continuous piano suite around 'Down To You', 'Court And Spark' and 'Car On A Hill'. The material comes from Mitchell's own archival series Joni Mitchell Archives.
