The Sidewinder is an album by trumpeter Lee Morgan, originally released in 1964 on Blue Note. The title track, an infectious boogaloo groove of nearly eleven minutes, became an unexpected hit and grew into one of the best-known Blue Note recordings ever. Morgan is joined by tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, pianist Barry Harris, bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Billy Higgins. The album stands as a high point of sixties hard bop and soul jazz.
