Car Wheels On A Gravel Road, originally released in 1998, is Lucinda Williams' fifth studio album and the record that found her an audience far beyond americana. She sings about roads, gas stations and small places in the American South, in songs such as Right In Time, Drunken Angel, Lake Charles, Can't Let Go and the title track. It won her the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album and became the first of her albums to go gold. It came out on top of The Village Voice's Pazz & Jop poll as the best album of 1998, and in Rolling Stone's revised 500 Greatest Albums list from 2020 it sits at number 98. This edition is an LP.
