Overkill is Motörhead’s second studio album, originally released in March 1979 on Bronze Records and recorded by the classic line-up of Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor. The opening title track is notorious for Taylor’s double-bass-drum barrage that keeps refusing to end, and helped set the tone for the speed and heaviness the band would become known for. It also holds tracks like ‘Stay Clean’, ‘No Class’ and ‘Damage Case’, and gave Motörhead their first real foothold in the British charts.
