Harvest, originally released in 1972, became Neil Young's best-known and best-selling album. It produced 'Heart of Gold', his only number 1 hit in the United States, and also features 'Old Man' and the spare 'The Needle and the Damage Done'. Young combined acoustic folk and country with orchestral arrangements, recorded in part with The Stray Gators and the London Symphony Orchestra. The album appears on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. This anniversary edition adds studio outtakes, a 1971 BBC solo performance and a documentary. This release is a CD (50th-anniversary edition).
