Lyssa (Rural Gods and Astonishing Punishments) was originally released in December 2004 on Black Lotus Records and is the seventh studio album by the Greek band Nightfall. Nightfall was formed in Athens in 1991 around Efthimis Karadimas. The title refers to Lyssa, the Greek personification of rage, and the album has a loosely conceptual structure. Musically the album moves toward death metal, largely leaving behind the gothic influences of earlier work.
