Riot Act is Pearl Jam's seventh studio album and originally came out in November 2002. It was the first album after the accident at the Roskilde Festival in 2000, where nine people died during the band's set; that event carries through 'Love Boat Captain' and through the opening single 'I Am Mine', which Eddie Vedder wrote in a hotel room just before the first concert that followed. The album is more restrained and more acoustically shaded than its predecessors, with room for the Hammond organ of Kenneth 'Boom' Gaspar, who played on a Pearl Jam album here for the first time and afterwards became a fixture of the live band. On 'Bu$hleaguer' Vedder took open aim at president George W. Bush; during the 2003 tour he sang it wearing a rubber Bush mask, which regularly caused uproar in the venue.
