For Nonetheless, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe worked with producer James Ford for the first time. The synthesisers share space with strings and piano, with "Loneliness" as the first single and "Dancing Star" a portrait of ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who fled the Soviet bloc in 1961. The duo's fifteenth studio album came out on 26 April 2024 through Parlophone and entered the UK album chart at number two, their highest studio album placing since Very in 1993.
