Dissolution, from 2018, was the second album with Gavin Harrison as a full band member, and it shows: here the drums drive the songs rather than follow them. The band recorded it across England, including at Harrison's Bourne Place studio in London and at Soord Studios in Somerset, after which Bruce Soord and Harrison mixed it together and keyboard player Steve Kitch handled the mastering. Its weight falls on the penultimate track 'White Mist', over eleven minutes long, with American guitarist David Torn supplying abstract layers of sound. The album reached number 36 on the UK album chart, their highest placing there at that point, number 4 in the Netherlands, and number 22 in Germany; the sleeve came from design agency Stylorouge.
