With 'Echoes', Pink Floyd found the form that would carry the band through the rest of the seventies: a piece of more than 23 minutes that fills the entire second side of Meddle, from the single piano note fed through a Leslie speaker at the start to David Gilmour's long guitar passages. Recording began at Abbey Road and then moved to AIR and Morgan Studios, where the band could work with sixteen tracks. Side one is more varied: the pounding instrumental 'One Of These Days' with two bass guitars, the acoustic folk of 'A Pillow Of Winds' and 'Fearless', and 'Seamus', a blues featuring a howling dog. Meddle is the group's sixth studio album and was originally released in 1971 on Harvest.

This edition is an LP on orange vinyl, the National Album Day edition.
