Doolittle originally came out in 1989 and became the album that took Pixies beyond the indie circuit. With producer Gil Norton the band sounded tighter than on Surfer Rosa without giving up the jumps between whispering and screaming. Debaser opens with a reference to Buñuel and Dalí's Un Chien Andalou, Monkey Gone to Heaven reached the American Modern Rock Tracks chart and Here Comes Your Man was released as a single. Hey, Wave of Mutilation and Gouge Away are on it too.
