Pixies
Pixies set the tone for nineties alternative rock out of Boston. On Come On Pilgrim (1987), Surfer Rosa (1988) and Doolittle (1989), Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering put surf guitars, Spanish lyrics and screamed choruses side by side, and their quiet-loud dynamic became the model for bands such as Nirvana. The group fell apart in 1993 after Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, but the 2004 reunion brought new studio albums again, from Indie Cindy through to The Night the Zombies Came in 2024, these days with Emma Richardson on bass.
This collection brings together Pixies on vinyl, LP and CD: reissues of the classic 4AD albums, live and session recordings and coloured Record Store Day pressings.
