The Works originally dates from 1984 and was Queen's eleventh studio album, made after a short break during which the members worked on solo projects. The title nods to their aim to throw "the works" — everything — at it again, and you hear that in the singles: Radio Ga Ga, John Deacon's I Want To Break Free, Hammer To Fall and It's A Hard Life. In the United Kingdom the album spent 94 weeks on the chart and peaked at number two.
