Out of Our Heads, released in 1965, was an early album by The Rolling Stones, from the period when the band still leaned heavily on American rhythm and blues and soul. Alongside covers of the likes of Solomon Burke and Marvin Gaye, it featured growing original writing by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as the best-known example. That song, with its recognisable guitar riff, became a worldwide breakthrough for the group. Other tracks such as "The Last Time", "Play with Fire" and "The Spider and the Fly" showed how the Stones were developing from a covers band into independent songwriters. The record marks a key moment in their early career.
