This single pairs two songs by the Dutch band Sandy Coast, centred on singer and songwriter Hans Vermeulen, who emerged from the Hague's 1960s Nederbeat scene. The A-side 'The Eyes of Jenny' is a song from the group's reunion period, with which they returned to the charts in the early 1980s. The B-side features the earlier 'Capital Punishment', a dramatic narrative song told from the perspective of a death-row convict, which was a hit in the late 1960s. Together the two sides bridge the band's early beat pop and their later comeback. The whole shows Sandy Coast as one of the distinctive voices in Dutch pop history.
