Caravanserai, originally released in 1972, was the turn towards jazz rock. Where the first three albums leaned on short, tight songs, this one runs as a single continuous movement, with long instrumental passages and only a handful of sung pieces. Bassist Doug Rauch and keyboard player Tom Coster came in; Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon played on it for the last time and went on to form Journey. Stone Flower goes back to a theme by Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Song of the Wind is one of the long guitar pieces. This edition is an LP.
