Supernatural, originally released in 1999, put Santana back in the charts. The idea came from Clive Davis: have the band write songs with younger guest artists. Smooth, sung by Rob Thomas, spent twelve weeks at number one in the United States, and Maria Maria with The Product G&B followed. Everlast, Lauryn Hill, Dave Matthews, and Eric Clapton are among the others heard here, while (Da Le) Yaleo and El Farol stay closer to the older work. The album won the 2000 Grammy for Album of the Year. This edition is a 2-LP.
