On 14 October 1987 Sonic Youth played the Cabaret Metro in Chicago, in the middle of the tour around Sister. The recording of that show originally appeared in 1998 on Goofin' Records and catches the band at the point where noise and song structure held each other in balance, with 'Schizophrenia', 'Tom Violence', '(I Got A) Catholic Block' and 'Expressway To Yr. Skull'. For an encore the band played four Ramones songs, from 'I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You' to 'Beat On The Brat'. For the 2025 reissue on Superior Viaduct the concert was taken from a speed-corrected master. This edition is a 2-LP on blue vinyl, in a gatefold sleeve.
