Static & Silence from 1997 became the third and final album by The Sundays, with the summery single Summertime as its best-known song. After the release, singer Harriet Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin withdrew from public life and no successor ever came, making this album the closing piece of a small, complete body of work. It was originally released on Parlophone.
