Love took The Cult from the underground into the charts. On the second studio album, originally from 1985, Billy Duffy's guitar rings out wide and reverb-heavy, while Ian Astbury builds his singing on the psychedelic rock of the sixties. "She Sells Sanctuary" became the band's best-known song and has been a fixture of their shows ever since; "Rain" and "Revolution" followed as singles. The album reached number 4 in the United Kingdom.
