Sonic Temple brought The Cult their widest audience. Bob Rock recorded the fourth studio album in Vancouver and gave the band a broad, hard arena sound, with Duffy's guitar and Astbury's voice high in the mix. The album originally appeared in 1989 and delivered "Fire Woman", "Edie (Ciao Baby)" and "Sun King". It reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 in the United States and number 3 in the United Kingdom.

This edition is a 2-LP on transparent green vinyl, with B-sides and alternative versions from the same period.
