Simply the Best gathered the best-known songs from Tina Turner's solo career, from "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Private Dancer" to "The Best" and "Steamy Windows". Alongside the older material the compilation carried four new recordings: "Way of the World", "Love Thing", "I Want You Near Me" and a new version of "Nutbush City Limits", the song Turner wrote herself during her years with Ike. The duet "It Takes Two" with Rod Stewart is on there as well. The album originally appeared in 1991 on Capitol Records.
This edition is a limited 2-LP on blue vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.
