Into The Great Wide Open originally came out in 1991 and was produced by Jeff Lynne, who had made Petty's solo album Full Moon Fever two years earlier. You can hear it in the stacked backing vocals and the tight, almost polished sound. Learning To Fly turns on four chords that keep coming back through the whole song; the title track tells the story of a boy who leaves for Hollywood in a handful of verses, and its video with Johnny Depp and Faye Dunaway was played to death on MTV. Kings Highway and All Or Nothin' let the Heartbreakers do what they do best: play tight without drawing attention to it. This edition is an LP.
