How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb gathered material that U2 had recorded during the How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb sessions but left unreleased at the time. The band presented the collection as a shadow album for the twentieth anniversary of that record. Its ten tracks consist of demos and previously unreleased recordings, including Luckiest Man in the World, which had leaked two decades earlier under the working title Mercy. Country Mile, Picture of You (X+W) and Happiness were issued beforehand as promotional singles. The release appeared as a Record Store Day title for Black Friday 2024.
