For the film comedy The Preacher's Wife, in which she starred alongside Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston sang a programme drawn largely from gospel. She worked with the Georgia Mass Choir, with Shirley Caesar, and with her mother Cissy Houston, and took on part of the production herself. Alongside traditionals such as "I Love The Lord" and "Joy To The World" it carries the ballad "I Believe In You And Me", which was released as a single. The album originally appeared in late 1996 and became the best-selling gospel album of all time.
