This release places two sides of ZZ Top next to each other: the compilation Greatest Hits, which gathers the hits from the Warner years, and the studio album Recycler. Recycler was the band's tenth studio album and the last one on which the synthesizer and sequencer production of Eliminator still played a full part, while the songs themselves were already creeping back towards the Texas blues the trio started out with. Doubleback became the first single and was heard in the film Back to the Future Part III; My Head's in Mississippi shows most clearly how the band was moving towards that older, rawer sound. By then Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard had been playing in the same line-up for more than twenty years.
