De soundtrack bij Zappa, de documentaire die Alex Winter in 2020 uitbracht nadat hij van de Zappa Family Trust toegang had gekregen tot het volledige archief. De samenstelling volgt de film: naast bekende stukken uit Zappa's catalogus staan er niet eerder uitgebrachte opnamen op, zijn optreden in Saturday Night Live uit 1978, werk van Edgard Varèse, de componist die hij als tiener ontdekte, en van Igor Stravinsky, plus filmmuziek die John Frizzell speciaal voor de documentaire schreef. De volgorde loopt van de vroege jaren met The Mothers of Invention naar het orkestwerk uit zijn laatste periode, met onderweg interviewfragmenten en liveopnamen uit onder meer de Whisky a Go Go, Fillmore West en het Palladium. De uitgebreide editie telt achtenzestig stukken. Deze uitgave is een 5-lp boxset op smoke vinyl.
