Stadium Arcadium started out as a plan for three albums released six months apart, but ended up as a single double album of 28 songs, split into the halves Jupiter and Mars. Red Hot Chili Peppers recorded their ninth studio album with producer Rick Rubin, partly at The Mansion, the house where Blood Sugar Sex Magik was also made. John Frusciante drew on The Mars Volta for his guitar work; it was his last album with the band until his return on Unlimited Love. Dani California, Tell Me Baby, Snow (Hey Oh), Desecration Smile and Hump de Bump were released as singles. The album became the band's first number 1 album in the US and won four of its seven nominations at the 2007 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album. It was originally released in 2006 on Warner Bros. Records.
This edition is a 4LP on yellow and red vinyl, the 20th anniversary edition.
