Beyoncé recorded B'Day in April 2006 in three weeks, ahead of the six that had been scheduled, working through around three songs a day. Her second solo album leans on sharp, funk and horn-driven production, heard in Déjà Vu, Ring the Alarm and Get Me Bodied, and sets ballads such as Resentment against it. Irreplaceable became the biggest hit: it spent ten weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was the best-performing song on that chart in 2007. The album was originally released on 1 September 2006 through Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment, around her twenty-fifth birthday. For the twentieth anniversary it has been expanded with the previously unreleased Morning Dew (Donk) and a sixteen-page booklet.
