Drum machines, loops and acoustic guitars instead of a wall of amplifiers: Adore sounds unlike any other album by The Smashing Pumpkins. It is their fourth studio album and the first without a permanent drummer, after Jimmy Chamberlin left the band; on "Perfect" a machine keeps time. The singles "Ava Adore" and "Perfect" pushed forward the electronic side already hinted at on "1979", while tracks such as "To Sheila", "Crestfallen" and "For Martha" stay slow and spare, with plenty of room around Billy Corgan's voice. The album originally appeared in June 1998 on Virgin Records.

This edition is a 2-LP.
