After My Everything, Ariana Grande went to work on her third studio album with Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, and the tone shifted with it: less teen pop, more disco, house and R&B underneath the voice. Dangerous Woman changes colour often as a result, from the reggae sway of Side to Side with Nicki Minaj to the straight-ahead synth pop of Into You. Elsewhere on the album Lil Wayne, Macy Gray and Future turn up as guests. Side to Side and the title track reached the US top ten, the album became her first number one in the United Kingdom, and the American Music Awards named her Artist of the Year in 2016. It originally came out in May 2016 through Republic Records.
