A Man from the Future tells the life of Alan Turing in eight parts: his school years, his work at Cambridge, breaking the Enigma code in the Second World War, his pioneering work in computing and artificial intelligence, his prosecution for homosexuality and his death in 1954. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe wrote the piece in 2012 and 2013 with Turing biographer Andrew Hodges, and it premiered at the BBC Proms in 2014. For this album Pet Shop Boys reworked it, with more electronic emphasis and new string arrangements by Sven Helbig, played by the Manchester Camerata Octet and sung by the Manchester Grammar School choir. Actress Juliet Stevenson narrates between the music, using passages from Hodges' biography Alan Turing: The Enigma. The album was released on 9 October 2026 through Parlophone.
This edition is a 2-CD set.
