Sleeping with the Past, originally released in 1989, was a studio album by Elton John. With lyricist Bernie Taupin, he drew on the soul and R&B of the 1960s, audible in songs such as "Sacrifice", "Healing Hands" and "Club at the End of the Street". "Sacrifice" went on to become John's first solo number one single in the United Kingdom.
