Generation X's self-titled debut was originally released in 1978 on Chrysalis. The London band around singer Billy Idol and bassist Tony James set itself apart with melodic, poppy punk rather than the scene's rougher corner. Tracks such as 'Ready Steady Go', 'Kiss Me Deadly' and 'One Hundred Punks' pair short, energetic songs with singalong choruses. For Record Store Day 2023 the album was reissued on vinyl.
