Live Santa Monica '72 captures a concert David Bowie gave on 20 October 1972 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, during the tour behind Ziggy Stardust. Backed by his band The Spiders from Mars, with Mick Ronson on guitar, Bowie runs through material from that era alongside songs such as "Space Oddity", "Changes" and "Life on Mars?". The recording circulated for years as a bootleg and was originally issued officially only in 2008.
