On this album David Bowie narrates Sergei Prokofiev's musical tale Peter and the Wolf, accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy. The recording was originally released in 1978 and pairs Prokofiev's piece with Benjamin Britten's The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, in which the instruments of the orchestra are introduced one by one. Here Bowie takes on the role of narrator rather than singer.
