Honky Château takes its name from the Château d'Hérouville in France, where Elton John originally recorded it in 1972 with producer Gus Dudgeon and his regular backing band. The album produced 'Rocket Man' alongside the swinging 'Honky Cat', and became John's first number one album in the United States — the start of a run of seven consecutive US number ones.
This 50th Anniversary edition is a 2-LP on black vinyl, supplemented with session demos.
